Collie Mullins Rose Of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus ‘Collie Mullens’)A long-blooming garden shrub that features a procession of pretty crepe-like double purple-red flowers all over the branches; stiffly upright habit of growth, can be leggy, best if underplanted with other perennials or small shrubs. Rose of Sharon is a hardy deciduous shrub with edible leaves and flowers. It is bred for showy and colorful flowers. The leaves make a really nice cooling and mucilaginous infusion. They are also delicious raw or cooked. The shrub can grow up to 10 feet, but usually is smaller in our climate. It prefers full sun.
